Course Description

Audiovisual Sociology and Cinema is part of Cultural Studies, which mostly focuses on the cinematographic interpretation of the everyday life of society. It is an inclusive course that integrates sociological cinema history and cinema practices in a logical perspective, adapting the all-encompassing methodology of sociological research and enabling students to understand sociological practices through audiovisual means. While exploring examples of sociological/ethnographic cinema around the world, it also provides a deeper understanding of the field of sociology and politics by focusing on sociological theories that are related to visual and cultural sociology.
