Biology: The Beauty of the Living World

Institution: University of Ottawa ( BSC335)
Category: Faculty of Science
Language: English

Course Description

Much like photographing a specimen from different angles, it is possible to explore the beauty of the living world from different perspectives. The molecular structures found within each of our cells are engineering marvels refined through billions of years of evolution. Likewise, our environment is the result of complex and fascinating interactions between thousands of living species. The mini-course will address topics such as biotechnology, ecology, global warming, genetically modified organisms, biodiversity and bioinformatics. Participants will be introduced to some of the cutting edge resources available at the University of Ottawa for teaching and researching biology.
