Course Description

In this course, students will experiment with 3 dimensional creations! We will learn the history of 3d making and sculpture; the principles of design for making 3D objects; a look at different 3D making software, and print our own 3D works. The classes will be formatted like a university arts-based course, with lectures in the morning, and practicing and making in the afternoon. Students are encouraged to be creative and will learn and use new software and open source tools such as TinkerCAD and Thingiverse. Together we will participate in student to student critiques, and give feedback on each others creations. As well as look at examples of 3D artists works. This course is perfect for students who are interested in pursuing a degree in media production and design, 3d video game design, sculpture, and the visual arts more broadly.
