Disability, accessibility, and rehabilitation in the community

Course Description

Students will examine in-depth the biological, psycho-social, and community factors related to disability and how these factors may influence an individual’s lived experience. There will be opportunities for discussion and exploration on how accessibility can support inclusion and participation across life stages including a survey of accessibility in their community. The course will also investigate topics in research including how we can assess physical and cognitive disability, interventions for rehabilitation, and a tour of an exercise physiology lab space on campus.
