Course Description
This course offers an introduction into the different ways people make, listen and study music and sound. From songwriting, to improvisation, soundwalks, to instrument building and much more in between, each day will include different themed workshops and hands-on activities. Over the course of 5 days, students will work together to make music, learn about different musical genres, be introduced to areas of academic study, and work towards a final presentation for friends and family. Whether you are newer or more experienced in exploring music, you will have the chance to try something new and bring your creative skills to the group. In “the Sound of Music and the Music of Sound” students will get a taste of what the world of music and sound has to offer them in university.
