Course Description
Have you ever wondered how a computer can paint like Van Gogh, sketch like Picasso, or create an entirely new style of its own? In this mini-course, we will learn how art and artificial intelligence come together to turn data into creativity. Using simple coding, we will teach a computer to recognize artistic patterns and then use those patterns to create stunning digital artwork.Throughout the week, we will see how neural networks can analyze thousands of artworks and learn to imitate their unique styles. By the end, we will be able to blend different “content” and “style” images to make our own AI-generated masterpieces—like transforming a selfie into a painting that looks like it was created by a famous artist. Along the way, we’ll also discuss the creative and ethical sides of AI in art.
