Course Description
Media make the world turn. But how? And why?Social change is fueled by and very often happens through the many forms of media we use to communicate. Rarely do we look at newspapers anymore - we now get our information from all sorts of different sources. From social justice to disinformation, from news to gossip, the pulse of society beats through new forms of media.
This course not only gives students the opportunity to explore how different forms of media--including zines, podcasts, infographics, and short-form video--play a role in social change, it gives them a chance to experiment with those media for themselves. Come and learn why the media are the way that they are and create it for yourself! No production expertise necessary.
