Course Description
This course introduces students to the exciting world of artificial intelligence and the legal questions it raises about creativity and ownership. Through hands-on activities, real world examples, and guided debates, students will explore how AI-generated content can have copyrights. By analysing scenarios and participating in discussion, the students will gain an understanding of how law, ethics, and technology collide. The course encourages critical thinking and empowers young creators to navigate a world where humans and machines share the stage.
Biography
My name is Mackenzie Clark and I am a 2L student in the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law Program. I am heavily involved in the school, holding positions such as the Coordinator of PBSC and Vice-President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. I've completed an internship with Gowling WLG in the Intellectual Property and Technology group and am very passionate about all things law.
