Course Description

Canadian Nobel laureate Dr. Donna Strickland said, “The field of fiber optic communications continues to advance beyond what many of us ever thought possible.” It is playing an essential role in this era of globalization. The mini course is designed to introduce the basic concepts of optical fiber communication. The interested students will learn about the physics of light, optical fiber and light propagation, and the integration of fiber and wireless communication technology, basics of signal generation, laser, and network fundamentals. The students will also get a chance to have hand-on experience with different components of the fiber communication system.

Biography

Hello, my name is Gazi Mahamud Hasan. I am a PhD student and research assistant of Photonic Technology Lab at the University of Ottawa. I also worked with different photonic industries. I love teaching; I started my career as a university teacher before I became a graduate student.
