Course Description
Step into the world of power, participation, and ideas! In this hands-on mini-course, you’ll create your own government, debate real-world challenges, and discover how people shape politics across different countries. Through games, simulations, and discussions, you’ll learn what makes democracy work, and what happens when it doesn’t. By the end, you’ll understand how citizens influence decisions, why governments differ around the world, and how your voice can make a difference in your community and beyond. This mini-course is intended for students interested in political science, public administration, law, and social studies.
Biography
Hi! My name is Zhiming Sha and I am a Master's student in Political Science at uOttawa. My research interest is in civic engagement and democratic awareness. I am passionate about helping students connect global issues to everyday life and inspiring young people to think critically about democracy, citizenship, and the power of civic participation.
