Course Description
This course will cover the basics of astronomy and dive into the history of space exploration. There will be a main course project where students will research and present what it takes to travel to, explore, and survive on another planet. Each day will have a lesson on a particular topic that the students can use for their projects. Currently, the daily topics consist of the history of travelling to the moon, satellites and rovers used for planetary exploration, planetary orbits and trajectories, and human habitation on other planets. Each day will consist of a lesson followed by an activity pertaining directly to that lesson and then time to work on their main project. The daily activities are still being discussed. Students must attend the final day of the mini course in order to present their main projects. Other topics in astronomy will also be explored, such as stars, black holes, asteroids, galaxies, and time.
