Description du cours
Have you wondered what it takes to create a video game? Or what happens behind the scenes as you play your favourite levels? This introductory course, geared towards students with little-to-no programming experience, covers the fundamentals of programming and game development. You’ll start from scratch, even if you have never written a line of code before (and that's okay!). Over this weeklong course, each student will create their own 2D platformer game using the Unity game engine. Discover the basics of programming with C#, an Object-Oriented Programming language as you add classic game functionality like player movement, a score system, collectables, and playable levels. Customize your game by building your own levels with tilemaps, and choose graphics that match the story you want your game to tell. Explore the game development process step by step, gaining insight into how designers and programmers work together to bring a game to life! Through hands-on workshops and guest lectures, you will learn all the tools you need to start your own journey into the world of video game development. What will you create with these skills?
